Terms of Service

Last Updated/Reviewed on: September 10, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of [DOMAIN] and your registration for and participation in courses offered by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], doing business as Lumina ("Lumina," "we," "us," or "our").

By using this website or registering for a course, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the website or register.

1.Definitions

"Course" means any educational program we offer, including online courses, masterclasses, in-person hands-on courses, immersions, and mentorships. "Attendee" means a person registered for a Course. "Materials" means any content we provide, including lectures, slides, manuals, videos, protocols, checklists, and templates.

2.Eligibility

Courses are intended for licensed dentists, dental students, and other dental professionals. Some Courses have prerequisites, which are stated on the Course page. By registering, you confirm that you meet the stated prerequisites and that the information you provide is accurate. We may cancel a registration and issue a refund if prerequisites are not met.

You must be at least 18 years old to register.

3.Registration and seats

A registration is confirmed only when payment has been received and we have sent a written confirmation. Seats are limited and allocated in the order registrations are completed. A seat is personal to the Attendee named at registration and may not be resold. Transfers are governed by the Cancellation and Refund Policy.

We may maintain a waitlist. Being on a waitlist does not reserve a seat and does not create any obligation on our part.

4.Fees and payment

Prices are stated on the Course page in [CURRENCY] and are exclusive of any applicable taxes, which will be added where required. Travel, lodging, meals other than those expressly included, licensing, and any equipment you are asked to bring are your responsibility unless stated otherwise.

Payments are processed by [PAYMENT PROCESSOR NAME] on its own infrastructure. Your use of that service is subject to its terms. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of the payment processor.

[IF INSTALLMENTS OR DEPOSITS ARE OFFERED, DESCRIBE THE SCHEDULE, WHEN THE BALANCE IS DUE, AND THE CONSEQUENCE OF NON-PAYMENT.]

5.Cancellations and refunds

Cancellations, transfers, and refunds are governed by our Cancellation and Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

6.Course content, faculty, and changes

We aim to deliver each Course as described. We may make reasonable changes to the agenda, materials, sequence, faculty, or venue where necessary. If a change is material, we will notify registered Attendees. Substitution of an instructor is not by itself grounds for a refund outside the Cancellation and Refund Policy.

7.Educational purpose and professional responsibility

Our Courses are educational. They are not clinical advice, a treatment recommendation for any specific patient, or a substitute for your own professional judgment.

You are solely responsible for the care you provide to your patients, for compliance with the laws, licensing rules, and standards of care applicable where you practice, and for deciding whether any technique presented is appropriate for a given case. Techniques, materials, and product recommendations presented in a Course reflect the experience and opinion of the instructor and may not suit every clinical situation.

Nothing in a Course or on this website constitutes a guarantee of clinical outcome, patient satisfaction, practice revenue, or any other result.

8.No guarantee of licensure, admission, or employment

Lumina does not provide immigration, licensing, or admissions services. Nothing we provide is a guarantee, promise, or assurance that you will obtain a dental license in any jurisdiction, be admitted to any advanced standing, residency, or degree program, pass any examination, or obtain employment. Requirements are set by licensing boards, universities, and government agencies, not by us, and are subject to change.

Any information we share about such requirements is general and may not be current. You should verify all requirements directly with the relevant authority and, where appropriate, with a licensed attorney.

[THIS SECTION IS DELIBERATELY BROAD BECAUSE OF THE FOREIGN-TRAINED DENTIST AUDIENCE. IT MUST BE REVIEWED BY US COUNSEL BEFORE PUBLICATION, AND THE WEBSITE COPY MUST BE CONSISTENT WITH IT.]

9.Continuing education credit

[COMPLETE ONLY WHAT IS DOCUMENTED AND TRUE. DO NOT PUBLISH A CE CREDIT STATEMENT, AND DO NOT USE ADA CERP OR AGD PACE NAMES OR LOGOS, UNTIL FORMAL RECOGNITION IS IN HAND.]

Option A, if Lumina is not a recognized provider: Lumina is not currently a recognized continuing education provider, and Courses are not offered for continuing education credit. Whether any Course satisfies a requirement of your licensing board is your responsibility to determine.

Option B, if and when recognition is obtained: [INSERT THE EXACT ATTRIBUTION LANGUAGE REQUIRED BY THE RECOGNIZING BODY, WORD FOR WORD, TOGETHER WITH PROVIDER NUMBER, CREDIT HOURS, AND SUBJECT CODE.]

We may issue a certificate of attendance for Courses you complete. A certificate of attendance is a record of participation only.

10.Hands-on courses, safety, and assumption of risk

Hands-on Courses involve dental instruments, rotary handpieces, chemical materials, and laboratory equipment. By participating you agree to follow all safety instructions, wear the personal protective equipment required, use equipment only as directed, and disclose any condition that affects your ability to participate safely.

You participate voluntarily and accept the ordinary risks of a laboratory or clinical training environment. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release Lumina, its instructors, and the host venue from liability for injury, loss, or damage arising from your participation, except to the extent caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct.

[IF ANY COURSE WILL EVER INVOLVE LIVE PATIENTS, THAT SCENARIO REQUIRES A SEPARATE CONSENT AND INSURANCE STRUCTURE AND IS NOT COVERED BY THIS SECTION. SEVERAL ATTENDEES HAVE REQUESTED IT, SO FLAG IT WITH COUNSEL AND YOUR INSURER BEFORE OFFERING IT.]

11.Conduct

We expect professional, respectful conduct toward faculty, staff, other Attendees, and venue personnel. We may remove an Attendee who is disruptive, unsafe, impaired, harassing, or in breach of these Terms, without refund.

12.Photography, recording, and testimonials

We may photograph or record Courses. By attending, you agree that we may use your image, likeness, and voice in promotional and educational materials, unless you tell us in writing at [CONTACT EMAIL] or notify the course coordinator on site that you do not consent.

If you provide written or recorded feedback, you agree that we may publish it, in whole or edited for length, with your name, credential, and city, unless you ask us not to. You may withdraw permission for future use at any time by contacting [CONTACT EMAIL].

You may not photograph, film, or record instructors, other Attendees, patients, or Course content without our prior written permission.

13.Intellectual property

All Materials, and the content of this website, are owned by Lumina or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property law. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to use the Materials for your own professional education and clinical practice.

You may not copy, distribute, publish, sell, sublicense, teach from, or create derivative works from the Materials, and may not share your platform login. Names, logos, and marks used by Lumina may not be used without written permission.

14.Third-party platforms

Online Course delivery, hosted materials, and payment run on third-party platforms, currently [LMS NAME] and [PAYMENT PROCESSOR NAME]. Your use of those platforms is governed by their terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their availability, security, or acts and omissions. Where access to an online Course depends on such a platform, access is provided for [DURATION OF ACCESS, e.g. 12 months from enrollment].

15.Website use

You agree not to interfere with the website, attempt unauthorized access, scrape content, or use the website for any unlawful purpose. Website content is provided for general information and may change without notice.

16.Disclaimers

Except as expressly stated, the website, Courses, and Materials are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the website will be uninterrupted or error free.

17.Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lumina and its officers, employees, instructors, and agents will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or loss of goodwill, arising out of or relating to the website, a Course, or the Materials, whether based in contract, tort, or any other theory, even if advised of the possibility.

Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to a Course will not exceed the amount you actually paid for that Course.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

18.Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lumina and its officers, employees, instructors, and agents from any claim, loss, liability, or expense, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Materials, your conduct at a Course, or the care you provide to your patients.

19.Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of [STATE], without regard to conflict of laws rules. [SELECT ONE AND HAVE COUNSEL CONFIRM: the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in [COUNTY, STATE] / any dispute will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by [ARBITRATION BODY] under its rules, and each party waives any right to participate in a class action.]

Nothing in this section limits a right you cannot waive under the law of your place of residence.

20.Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. The version in effect at the time of your registration governs that registration. Continued use of the website after an update means you accept the updated Terms.

21.Miscellaneous

If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. These Terms, together with the Cancellation and Refund Policy and the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between us regarding their subject matter.
